Daily Life – Time Tracker (“Daily Life”, “the app”) is made by WebbingStone (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what the app records, where that data is kept, and who else can see any of it.
Last updated: 1 October 2026
The short version
- Daily Life builds a timeline of your day on your phone. There is no Daily Life account and no Daily Life server. We never receive your locations, timeline, places or health data.
- Your timeline is stored in an encrypted database on your device, and on Android it is excluded from phone backups.
- The iPhone version shows ads from Google AdMob. Google may collect device and advertising data as described below, but ads never receive your timeline, places or health data. The Android version has no ads.
- You can export or delete your data at any time from Settings & privacy.
What the app records on your device
- Location (including in the background, with your permission): the places you visit and the routes you travel, used to build your timeline. Raw GPS points are deleted after 30 days by default (you can change this). Your named places, timeline and totals are kept until you delete them.
- Motion & activity (Motion & Fitness on iPhone, Physical activity on Android): whether you are still, walking, running, cycling or in a vehicle.
- Health data (Apple Health on iPhone, Health Connect on Android), read only: steps, distance, active energy, workouts, sleep and heart rate, shown on your timeline. Daily Life never writes to Apple Health or Health Connect, and health data is never used for advertising, never shared and never leaves your device.
- Places and corrections you enter: names and categories you give places (Home, Work, Gym…) and edits you make to your timeline. Places you mark as private are counted in your totals but not stored with exact positions or shown on maps.
Services the app contacts
- Street names (optional). For places you have not named, the app can look up the street using your phone’s built-in geocoding service (Apple on iPhone, Google on Android). This sends the coordinates of that one spot to Apple or Google. You can turn this off in Settings & privacy → Street names.
- Map tiles. To draw maps, the app downloads map images from a map tile provider. The provider sees the map area you are viewing and your IP address, not your location history.
- Your watch. On Wear OS, the phone sends today’s summary and your list of places to your paired watch over Google’s Wearable Data Layer. This stays between your own devices.
- Advertising (iPhone only). See the next section.
Advertising on iPhone (Google AdMob)
The iPhone version is free and shows banner and occasional full-screen ads provided by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google’s Mobile Ads SDK may collect:
- device identifiers, including the Apple advertising identifier (IDFA) only if you tap “Allow” in Apple’s tracking prompt;
- your IP address and approximate (coarse) location derived from it;
- ad interaction data (for example, which ads were shown or tapped) and diagnostic data such as crashes and performance.
If you choose “Ask App Not to Track”, ads are not personalised using your IDFA. If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, Google’s consent message lets you choose whether ads may be personalised, and you can change that choice later in Settings & privacy → Ad privacy choices.
Google processes this data under its own policies: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and Google Privacy Policy. Daily Life never passes your timeline, places, locations or health data to Google or any advertiser.
What we do not do
- We do not run a server for Daily Life and do not collect, store or sell your data.
- We do not use analytics or crash-reporting services in the app, other than the diagnostics collected by Google’s ads SDK on iPhone.
- We do not use health data for advertising, marketing or any purpose other than showing it to you.
Your control and your rights
- Pause recording at any time, or set a daily no-recording window.
- Export your data as a JSON file (Settings & privacy → Export my data).
- Delete a day, a period, or everything (Settings & privacy). Uninstalling the app also deletes all of its data from your device.
- Withdraw permissions for location, motion, health or tracking at any time in your phone’s settings.
Because your Daily Life data stays on your device, we cannot see, correct or delete it for you — the tools above do that directly. Depending on where you live (for example under the EU/UK GDPR or Egypt’s Personal Data Protection Law No. 151 of 2020) you have rights to access, correct, delete and object to processing of personal data. For data collected by Google for advertising, you can exercise these rights with Google.
Children
Daily Life is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country) and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update this page and the date above. Material changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes.
