Privacy Policy – Safe Charging

Google Play: Safe Charging (package com.Halemo.ChargerRemovalAlert)
App Store: Safe Charging: Anti-Theft (bundle com.webbingstone.safecharging)
Developer: WebbingStone
Last updated: 18 September 2026

Safe Charging is a simple utility that sounds an alarm on your phone the moment the charging cable is unplugged, helping you protect your device from theft while it is charging in a public place.

1. Information we collect

Safe Charging itself does not collect, store, or share any personal data. The app has no user accounts, no sign-in and no analytics of its own. The Android version may show advertisements served by Google AdMob; the data Google processes for that is described in section 3a. The iOS version contains no advertising and makes no network connections at all. It does not request access to your location, camera, microphone, contacts, photos or files.

2. Information processed on your device

To do its job the app reads the following information from the operating system (Android or iOS). This information is processed only in the app’s memory on your device, is never written to storage, and never leaves your device:

  • Battery charging state (charging, full, or discharging) – used to detect when the charger is unplugged.
  • Battery level (percentage) – shown on screen and used for the optional “battery full” reminder.
  • Motion sensor (accelerometer) – only if you enable Pocket mode, and only while the alarm is armed, to detect the phone being picked up. Readings are compared on the spot and immediately discarded.

Android: while the alarm is armed the app runs a background service so it can react with the screen off; Android shows a persistent notification for this. iOS: the app keeps the screen awake while armed and monitors the charger only while it is open on screen; once an alarm has started it continues to sound if the phone is locked. During an alarm the app may vibrate and flash the torch (on iOS this requires the camera permission prompt, but no images are ever captured).

On Android, when the alarm is triggered the app raises the alarm volume of your device so that the alert is audible. On iOS, apps cannot change the volume; the app warns you before arming if the volume is low.

2a. Data stored on your device

The following is kept in the app’s private storage on your phone only, is never transmitted, and is removed when you uninstall the app:

  • Your settings (alarm sound, grace period, pocket mode, strobe, vibration, reminder threshold).
  • Your PIN, if you set one – stored only as a salted cryptographic hash; the PIN itself is never saved and cannot be recovered from the hash. If you forget it, uninstalling and reinstalling the app clears it.
  • Charging log – timestamps of plug-in, unplug, alarm and battery-full events with the battery percentage at the time. You can clear it at any time from the log screen.

3. Internet access

The Android version uses the internet only to load advertisements; the iOS version does not use the internet. The app never transmits your settings, PIN, or charging log to us or to anyone else.

3a. Advertising (Google AdMob) – Android only

This section applies only to Android builds that include ads (the current Play release does not). To keep the app free we may show a banner on the main screen and, occasionally, a full-screen ad after you disarm the alarm. Ads are served by Google AdMob (Google LLC). To do this, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and share with Google and its advertising partners:

  • your device’s advertising ID and similar device identifiers;
  • ad interaction data (which ads were shown, viewed or tapped);
  • an approximate location derived from your IP address (the app does not ask for location permission);
  • technical diagnostics such as crash and performance data.

This data is used for advertising, measurement and fraud prevention. Google’s handling of it is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. You can reset or delete your advertising ID and opt out of personalised ads in your device’s Android settings (Settings → Google → Ads). On iPhone, Safe Charging does not ask to track you, so ads are not personalised using your advertising identifier; you can also limit Apple’s own ad personalisation in Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising.

Users in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are shown a consent dialog on first launch and can change their choices at any time from Settings → Ad privacy options inside the app. If you decline personalised ads, you may still see non-personalised ads.

4. Third-party services

The only third-party service that may be integrated is Google AdMob on Android, described above. The iOS version integrates no third-party services. There are no analytics or trackers on either platform.

5. Children’s privacy

The app is suitable for all ages. Because we collect no data, we do not knowingly collect information from children.

6. Security

We hold no personal data about you on our servers. Everything the app stores stays on your device, and communication with Google’s ad servers is encrypted in transit.

7. Your rights

WebbingStone holds no data about you, so there is nothing for us to access, correct, export or delete; uninstalling the app removes everything it stored on your device. For data processed by Google for advertising, use the controls linked in section 3a or contact Google directly.

8. Changes to this policy

If the app ever changes in a way that affects your privacy, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date above before publishing that version.
